Sumerah Srivastav is a playwright and screenwriter who was identified as a rising star in the BBC’s New Talent Hotlist. Her stage credits include #846Live (Stratford East), James Graham’s Sketching (PW Productions), Jigsaw (Migration Museum) and Veiled & Vinegar (Redbridge Drama). Sumerah has contributed material to Hear Me Now, a collection of audition monologues for actors of colour (Oberon) and has also written for the BBC1 shows EastEnders and Casualty as well as Netflix shows Manifest and Lupin.
Sumerah is a keen advocate for inclusion and the importance of representation across all art forms. She is co-chair of the Equality and Diversity Committee at the Writers' Guild and Trustee Director for the charity Mercury Musical Developments
